Volissos castle climb
Why walk it
A short, steep climb through the old village to the Byzantine and Genoese towers above it.
The route
1Climb from the lower square through the restored stone lanes of the old village.
2Follow the path to the castle terrace and walk the outside of the walls.
3Take in the whole north-western coastline, from Limnos round to Managros.
4Descend by a different lane back to the square.
