Avgonyma
Αυγώνυμα
Compact stone hill village whose western outlook combines medieval settlement character with one of Chios's strongest sunset panoramas.
Directions
Avgonyma is a compact stone village perched high above western Chios, with narrow lanes, sturdy houses and a small square that feels wonderfully removed from the coast below. Its great reward comes late in the day, when the western horizon opens across the Aegean toward Psara and the stone takes on the warm light of sunset. It combines especially well with nearby Anavatos and Nea Moni.
