Agioi Pateres has a close spiritual and historical connection with nearby Nea Moni and offers a quieter, more intimate stop in the central Chios mountains. Tradition links the cave here with the three ascetics Nikitas, Iosif and Ioannis, whose story is associated with the foundation of Nea Moni. As an active monastery, visiting hours can be limited.
