The Archaeological Museum holds the principal collection of finds from Chios, spanning prehistory, the ancient Greek world and the Roman period. Its objects provide valuable context for sites such as Emporios, Fana and Daskalopetra and reveal how deeply the island was connected to the wider Aegean. The story behind this place

The Ephorate/Ministry lists the Castle among protected archaeological monuments. The surviving fabric reflects repeated rebuilding under successive powers; do not label the whole enclosure simply “Genoese”.
