The experience

Vrontados stretches along the coast immediately north of Chios Town and mixes seafaring tradition with several of the island's familiar landmarks. Daskalopetra, the windmills and historic churches give plenty to explore, while at Orthodox Easter the famous Rocket War becomes the focus of the area for one extraordinary night. Outside Easter, Vrontados is best enjoyed as a relaxed coastal district with strong links to Chios's maritime life.
